WorkSafe focus on hardware and building supplies

In a recent announcement WorkSafe WA has released information about their latest inspection campaign. WorkSafe is undertaking an inspection program to look at safety issues associated with retail hardware and building suppliers.

The workplaces involved in the program are engaged in supplying and/or selling hardware items to the public and contractors.

The program will continue throughout the remainder of the financial year in both metropolitan and regional areas.

The campaign will look at general areas of electricity, emergency egress, slips and trips on uneven surfaces, evacuation procedures, personal protective equipment, first aid equipment and hazardous substances. Industry specific hazards such as manual tasks, objects falling from heights such as racking and shelving, forklift safety and high risk work licences will also be in the focus.
